Our Choral Program

Since 1994, Alaska Youth Choir (AYC) has been an integral part of the music education for Juneau youth.  We strive to provide an opportunity for our community’s diverse socio-economic population of young people to develop, nurture, and encourage a life-long learning, enjoyment, and love of music through choral singing. 

The AYC Board of Directors strives to provide a quality program for all while keeping tuition low. The Board is devoted to quality training, enrichment, and leadership opportunities for Juneau’s youth.

Community

Our choir engages with the community by participating in a variety of local events, including Folk Fest, the State of Alaska Legislature, and more.

Diversity

Children from any background are encouraged to participate. The AYC Board strives to keep tuition low, in order to provide opportunity to as many children as possible. New students that are unsure are encouraged to "try out" the choir before committing. 

​​Confidence

The Alaska Youth Choir invites children from ages 6-18 years old, beginning to advanced, to participate and support each other. We strive to foster a supportive environment between choristers and their families.

Growth

Our Choir Director, Mr. Moore, has over two decades of experience teaching students at both the high school and middle school level. Mr. Moore received his degree in Church Music from Dallas Baptist University in 1995.
