Our Choral Program

Since 1994, Alaska Youth Choir (AYC) has been an integral part of the music education for Juneau youth.  We strive to provide an opportunity for our community’s diverse socio-economic population of young people to develop, nurture, and encourage a life-long learning, enjoyment, and love of music through choral singing. 

The AYC Board of Directors strives to provide a quality program for all while keeping tuition low. The Board is devoted to quality training, enrichment, and leadership opportunities for Juneau’s youth.

Community

The Alaska Youth Choir is a great way for choristers and families to connect and make new friends. Our choir engages with the community as a whole by participating in a variety of local events, including Folk Fest, the State of Alaska Legislature, and more. 

Diversity

All children from our community, ages 6-18 years old, are welcome to participate. The AYC Board strives to keep tuition low in order to provide opportunity to as many children as possible. We are pleased to help choristers in need attain scholarships to cover tuition.

We strive to foster a positive, supportive environment for our choristers. We want every students to feel comfortable, which is why we encourage new students to try out the choir before committing to their first semester.

Growth

The Alaska Youth Choir invites children of all skill levels to participate - beginning to advanced. Our Choir Director, Mr. Moore, has over two decades of experience teaching students at both the high school and middle school level. Mr. Moore received his degree in Church Music from Dallas Baptist University in 1995.
